It has become a bit of a tradition in our house, to have a family getawayt the week before Christmas – before the crowds, before the get togethers and use it as a time to unwind and reflect on another year gone by.
This year it was Fraser Island -very different to last year – no TV, very limited WIFI, dingoes and “teenagers”. And what a fabulous week it was.
We ate when we were hungry, we ate when we weren’t, we swam, we fished, we went four wheel driving, we played board games and we slept.
Apart from the odd patch of “phone range” as we traversed the island, we were disconnected, cut off if you like, from our regular world. And guess what? – we liked it!
Now the week is over and life returns to its normal pace, I feel refreshed and energised for 2015. However I am looking forward to the next disconnected adventure in May.
