In May 2022, 10 CREW members took to Australia’s spectacular coastline at Royal National Park in New South Wales. Established in 1879, Royal National Park is the world’s second oldest national park. This tour is a firm favourite here at Women’s Fitness Adventures, so returning to ‘The Royal’ was fabulous.
Our adventure started at Sydney airport, where we were greeted by our guides and taken by bus transfer to our accommodation at Bulli Beach. Our adventurers shared comfortable cabins overlooking the beach. Following our arrival, we walked the boardwalk and along the beach at sunset.
We were blessed with perfect weather. It was sunny and warm and occasional overnight showers on our first night did nothing to hamper glorious weather the following day. Waking up to sunrise over the ocean was appreciated by many of our adventurers.
The overall adventure is rated as moderate. Each day of hiking provided incredible diversity and varied terrain.
Day one of hiking revealed the most beautiful coastal scenery. The entire day was full of moments of awe featuring spectacular cliff faces, glorious sandstone landscapes and simply gorgeous ocean vistas. The hike started at Bundeena and followed the coastline around Jibbon Point, where we viewed indigenous carvings. We then continued along the coast to Marley Beach, stopping along the way to admire the unbeatable views from atop cliff faces.
Though the most challenging, the second day of hiking was a favourite for many adventurers, offering the opportunity for bush hiking, beach hiking, and rock hopping. We hiked from Otford through Palm Jungle towards the Figure 8 pools. Our adventurers enjoyed lunch on the beach before we headed back along the track.
Our adventurers were amazed at the difference in the scenery from the first day. It was rainforest hiking and technical with mud and stairs. Concluding the trek on day two was a great accomplishment.
Our final day of hiking started with a breakfast surprise where one of our guides played the bagpipes at our breakfast café! Our adventurers walked across the Sea Cliff Bridge, admiring the cliff faces and the beauty of the Pacific Ocean.
Evening meals were enjoyed at local pubs and clubs, which were lovely and modern. It was the perfect opportunity to chat, relax and spend time together. The group was the ideal size for everyone to get to know each other and for new friendships to be made.
Our adventurers have strongly recommended that this trip be repeated in the future
We can’t wait for our next adventures in Australia and overseas. If you are interested in participating, find out more about upcoming adventures or become a member of Women’s Fitness Adventures.
