The Jatbula Trail Hiking Adventure

We consider this one of our personal favourites due to the location, the extremely limited access to the trail, the scenery, the waterholes and the general sense of being at peace.

It is a rewarding hike in the remote areas of Northern Territory.

8 days, 7 nights, 62km from Nitmiluk Gorge to Edith Falls

The Jatbula Trail follows an ancient Jawoyn song line through the Nitmiluk National Park, not far from Katherine in the Northern Territory. The trail is only open during the dry season from June to September, and daily numbers on the trail are strictly limited.

Imagine hiking in the wilderness in the morning where the colours are alive, then spending the ENTIRE afternoon relaxing by a magnificent waterhole. The afternoon is entirely yours. These are magic days. We experience ancient rock art sites and majestic waterholes and waterfalls. At night, you sleep under the canopy of a thousand stars.

Arrival day into Darwin 

The adventure is finally here.

You should organise flights to arrive into Darwin today. If you are travelling with your Women’s Fitness Adventures C.R.E.W Leader, or arriving at approximately the same time, transfers to your hotel are included.

If arriving outside of this time, please make your own way to the hotel.

Tonight we enjoy a group welcome dinner and share the excitement for the week ahead.

Monday 8th August 2022
Darwin to Katherine

 

After breakfast, it’s an early start today as we make our way, in our private transport to Katherine, about 4 hours south of Darwin

Part way, we stop for a leg stretch at Pine Creek, an historical mining town. Here you will find Mayses Cafe – famous for a great mango smoothie. You know what they say – live like a local!

Upon arrival in Katherine, it’s time for lunch and then an afternoon cruise up the magnificent Nitmiluk Gorge. We get to see and participate in one of the regions best traditional cultural activities, spending time with local artists and trying some of the age old traditional practices of firelighting, spear throwing and painting.

After the cruise we transfer to our private, yet basic Bush Camp, inside the Nitmiluk National Park.

There’s plenty of time to get our backpacks organised, ensure we check off all the items we need to take, practice putting up the tent and ask any last minute questions.

All before we have dinner under the stars at our private camp.

Tuesday 9th August 2022
Nitmiluk Gorge – Biddlecombe Cascades

We are up early to beat the heat!

After breakfast it’s a final pack check before we line up to catch a boat to the mouth of the Seventeen Mile Creek, the starting point of the Jatbula Trail.

Our hike takes us up the escarpment towards the Northern Rockhole, where we stop for morning tea. Here we have the opportunity to readjust our packs and iron out any kinks.

Resting in the shade and sipping some cool water, we reflect on the great journey ahead, before continuing onto camp at Biddlecombe Cascades.

Once the tents are up and camp is set, it’s time for relaxation!! The Cascades offers shaded rock pools that can be likened to a natural spa!

Take in the scenery and really enjoy the moment.

Wednesday 10th August 2022

Biddlecombe Cascades to Crystal Falls

Each day is an early start, to beat the heat and ensure plenty of relaxation time.

At our morning tea stop today we see our first Rock Art paintings, sheltered by an amazing rock formation. Be part of living history as we explore this amazing area.

Tonight we camp at Crystal Falls, alongside Crystal Creek.  It’s the PERFECT place to relax and rejuvenate in the refreshing waterhole right alongside camp.

Thursday 11th August 2022

Crystal Falls to Seventeen Mile Falls

It’s a super early start today as we head to Crystal Falls Lookout for Sunrise. What an opportunity.

Our hike takes us across the escarpment to the Ampitheatre for morning tea. Dropping our packs, we descent into the cool monsoon rainforest and explore more rock art. OR NOT – and simply sit in the shade for a while.

Tonight we camp at 17 Mile Falls, one of our most favourite locations. It is here that you truly appreciate the beauty of the landscape and how remote you really are.

There’s plenty of time for relaxation in the many scenic rockpools that form part of the falls.

Friday 12th August 2022

Seventeen Mile Falls – Sandy Billabong

There’s something magical about setting off on the hike at dawn. The colours are alive and you can appreciate the specialness of the day as it comes alive.

We hike to Edit River Crossing for a late morning tea/early lunch. Drop the backpack, rest the feet or take a dip in the river to feel cool and refreshed.

Then it’s on toward Sandy Billabong – a wonderful, sandy campsite. With plenty of places to “perch” to see the abundant birdlife, or swim in the billabong.

Watch the reflections on the water as the afternoon passes.

Saturday 13th August 2022

Sandy Billabong – Edith Falls

It’s one last early start today as we make our way towards Sweetwater Pool where we stop for morning tea.

This is the most amazing place – with water and rockpools everywhere. There’s plenty of time for a dip, a rest and a final immersion in our surrounds.

It’s a bittersweet moment as we leave Sweetwater and hike the final 5km to Edith Falls and the end of our hike. Be sure to “high five” as you cross over the finish marker of the trail.

And just like that, we are there – the end of the trail and back at the Edith Falls kiosk where we enjoy a cold drink and lunch.

There’s time for a quick shower before our mid afternoon pick up and return to Darwin. After checking in, we head out for our Traditional Celebration and Awards Dinner – one of the highlights of every Women’s Fitness Adventure.

Darwin – Home

This morning we enjoy a final breakfast together and relive the memories of the week.

Depending on your flight times, there may be time for some quick shopping or sightseeing in Darwin before you go.

Or why not extend your stay a few days and stay on.

ACCOMMODATION

Our accommodation for this adventure is a mixture of hotels and camping and is ALL INCLUSIVE of the adventure.

There are 7 nights accommodation in total.

Our first night and last night in Darwin is in twin share 4 Star hotel accommodation, centrally located to all of Darwin’s attractions.

When we leave Darwin and head for the trail, it is here that we are CAMPING.

Our first night camping is at Nitmiluk Gorge on a private property and it is here that we can get our gear sorted for the adventure.

Then for the next 5 nights it is CAMPING on the trail.

Note we will endeavour to provide single tents where possible but is not guaranteed. Single supplement for hotel in Darwin may be available upon request, subject to availability.

MEALS & FOOD

From our Welcome Dinner in Darwin to our Final Awards Celebration Dinner and final day breakfast, you will be impressed and more than adequately filled with enough food for the entire adventure.

From arrival in Darwin to return to Darwin, all delicious food and snacks are included as specified in the itinerary.

We have designed delicious and nutritious meals to satisfy the hungry hiker along with snacks and treats to suit all taste buds. Our meals cater for food allergies and intolerances where applicable.

Our Traditional Celebration and Awards Dinner on our final night, after completing the trail., is held at an iconic location in Darwin. A perfect way to recognise your HUGE achievement and to end the adventure.

TRAVEL AND TRANSFERS

It’s up to you whether you want to travel on the same flights as your Women’s Fitness Adventures C.R.E.W Leader or meet us in Darwin.

When available, we will confirm with you our Leader flight details so you can make your own flight arrangements.

If you travel with your Women’s Fitness Adventures C.R.E.W Leader or meet us at Darwin airport at around the same arrival time as your leader, transfers from Darwin Airport to Darwin City are included. The same applies for departure.

From the moment you land in Darwin (or on the plane if you decide to travel together), until the time of your return, your Women’s Fitness Adventures C.R.E.W Leader is with you every step of the way.

Our goal is to ensure you have a fabulous time on the Jatbula Trail Hiking Adventure.

Our Leaders are fully trained in Remote Area First Aid and hold current CPR qualifications.

In addition to your Women’s Fitness Adventures C.R.E.W Leader, we also have TWO Professional Hiking Guides, with many decades experience on the trail.

This makes the ratio of leaders/guides to participants at 1:3, a fabulous ratio designed to ensure your adventure is a success.

GEAR & EQUIPMENT

Once your booking is confirmed we will supply you with a comprehensive Gear/Packing list.

We know from experience what’s vital, what’s nice to have and what’s not necessary. This is particularly relevant for The Jatbula Trail Hiking Adventure – where some specialist equipment is needed.

That’s why our Gear/Packing list is so important. We will go through it with you as part of the Training and Special Skills Sessions.

If you need to buy anything, you can take advantage of our partner offer – a discount at the Adventure Store (either online, in person or over the phone).

In addition to your own gear, your C.R.E.W Leaders & Hiking Guides are carrying Emergency Communications Equipment and a comprehensive Group First Aid Kit. You will need your own personal kit.

SUSTAINABLE ADVENTURES

Our fabulous adventures allow you to create memories and friendships that last a lifetime. At Women’s Fitness Adventures we are also committed to sustainable adventures so that the places and spaces we go will also last well beyond our lifetime and the many generations to follow. Sustainability starts when you join our community and never ends.

We are committed to the principles of minimal impact, leave no trace, tread lightly  and give back to the local community. Here’s how we do that for all of our adventures (short and long)

Consumables

  • We encourage “no plastics” so bringing refillable water bottles, reusable cups and cutlery where applicable and using lunchboxes where plastic can be minimised
  • It’s a leave no trace principle, so all food scraps, toilet waste and rubbish items are carried out. (See our Masterclass on Toileting for the Trail)
  • We are committed to reducing paper waste inside our organisation and have implemented  a paperless booking system.

Transport

  • We encourage the use of public transport or car pooling to minimise the use of motor vehicles.
  • When flying, we encourage you to offset your emissions by purchasing carbon offsets.

Minimal impact

  • We have a “tread lightly” policy where we stay on known tracks and paths, minimising our impact to bush, plants and wildlife.
  • Before we embark on an adventure or trail, we brief you on the flora, fauna and any other considerations that form the uniqueness of the environment so that you understand and appreciate the minimal impact approach.

Accommodation & Adventure Partners

  • Where possible we partner with fellow Eco Certified businesses who follow the same eco philosophies
  • Our destinations are all pre arranged and when we camp we do so in designated campsites.
  • Our adventures have all the applicable National Park permits and licenses to operate.
  • Our “give back” policy also applies to the locations we stay – choosing local operators, businesses and townships where funds spent go directly to small business owners – doing our part to create sustainable communities.

Safety is our number one priority AND that’s why we INCLUDE IN YOUR ADVENTURE

  • A 3 month comprehensive Hike Training Plan to ensure you are Functionally Fit, Cardio Strong and Endurance Ready.

Your Women’s Fitness Adventures Leader and Hiking Guides are fully trained in Remote Area First Aid and holds current CPR Qualifications.

In addition, we carry a group first aid kit and emergency communications equipment.

All our transportation is provided in commercially registered, expertly maintained tour vehicles & trailers, with airport and hotel pick up and drop off where applicable.

We work with and support approved local tourism operators for our accommodation and meal requirements.

Our Hiking Guides have extensive knowledge of The Jatbula Trail and will readily share stories, tales and folklore.

Learn about the history of the trail, the National Park and the meaning behind the rock art – where every step is a life lesson in history, geography or perhaps art.

Our C.R.E.W Leader brings with her extensive knowledge in training women for multi day hikes. Her skills and commitment to you will ensure you are prepared and Adventure Ready so you can have the best time ever.

FITNESS TRAINING

The Jatbula Trail Hiking Adventure is graded Moderate PLUS because:

  • you are carrying a full backpack for consecutive days
  • the weather will be warm
  • you are camping.

The hiking is on formed trails – sometimes uneven and rocky, undulating at times and sometimes a dirt track. Daily hikes ranging from 8-16km.

One of the most common asked questions is “Will I be fit enough?”

For this adventure we assume that you will already have a MODERATE level of fitness and will need some additional training specifically designed for a full pack adventure.

Shortly after your booking is confirmed you will receive a comprehensive MODERATE PLUS –  THREE month Hike Training Program designed for YOU and The Jatbula Trail Hiking Adventure.

This training program has been developed by Women’s Fitness Adventures based on decades of hiking experience on various trails around the world, knowledge and understanding of women’s lifestyle and health as well as 15 years experience as a Personal Training to women over 50.

Other training options

  • We recommend you use the PRIVATE Facebook Group for this adventure to coordinate with other hikers in your area.
  • In person Group Hike Training is available for  members who can attend our South East Queensland dates and is an optional extra. The link to purchase the sessions is available in your specific Member Resources page for this adventure.

ONLINE SPECIALIST SKILLS SESSIONS

To ensure your success on The Jatbula Trail Hiking Adventure AND ensure you have the best time EVER, it is important to be prepared.

Our Hike Training Programs and Specialised Gear & Equipment list complement our Online Specialist Skills Sessions.

These interactive sessions are designed to teach and share the practical elements of the adventure, such as:

  • what to look for and how to by a full pack
  • how to pack to maximise space minimise weight & keep your balance
  • understanding the gear & equipment, why you need boots not shoes, why we need minimal toiletries, how to prepare internally for the hike.

FRIENDSHIP

From the moment you book on to The Jatbula Trail Hiking Adventure, you will begin to make new friends.

This can be either through the closed Facebook Group, the online skills sessions or at other adventures.

Once your payment is confirmed, you will be invited into an exclusive Jatbula Trail Hiking Adventure closed Facebook Group that you have access to, where you can get to know your fellow adventures LONG before the days on the trail.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What you carry

    The Jatbula Trail Hiking Adventure is a FULL PACK adventure.

    This means that we are self sufficient and we must carry ALL of what we need for the entire trek. We anticipate that your backpack will weigh up to approximately 17kg (give or take).

    Shortly after your booking is confirmed you will receive the Gear & Packing list, which has been carefully curated by our Hiking Guides and C.R.E.W Leaders.

    The Online Specialist Skills Sessions will also cover off each of the items needed for the hike as well as the “how to’s” of a full pack hiking adventure.

    No previous Full Pack Hiking Experience is needed.

  • Fitness Level

    The Jatbula Trail Hiking Adventure is graded Moderate PLUS.

    The hiking is on a marked trail which can be rocky underfoot at times. Daily hikes range from 8-16km in the heat.

    You will need an ABOVE average level of fitness to participate fully in this adventure.

    Our comprehensive THREE MONTH Hike Training Plan for The Jatbula Trail Fitness Adventure will be provided to you shortly after your booking is confirmed. This training plan assumes you already hold a moderate level of fitness and will build on this level.

    If you are at an Introductory Level of fitness and wish to undertake this adventure as a goal, please contact the office to discuss additional training plan options to ensure you are Adventure Ready.

    We advise you do as much training as you can before the adventure.  The more you train for this hike, the easier you will handle the terrain and the more you will enjoy this wonderful part of the world.

  • Weather

    As much as we would like to, we have no control over the weather.

    Central Australian weather is predictable at this time of year. Days are warm – low to mid 30’s and the nights generally mild. However clear open skies can cool the evenings down.

    That’s why it’s important to come along with an open mind ready for an awesome experience whatever the weather.

    It is very important you bring the right gear for the conditions and with our comprehensive gear list and briefing sessions, you will be more than prepared.

    In the event of extreme weather conditions, the adventure may vary from the itinerary. Please be aware of this and accept this as part of the adventure. Your personal safety is our highest priority.

    Please read carefully the Terms and Conditions of this contract.

    These should be read in conjuction with the website Terms and Conditions.

    In completing and submitting the Booking Form, you agree to be bound by these conditions which constitute the agreement between Women’s Fitness Adventures ABN 99 126 975 880 and you.

    No purported variation of these conditions will be effective unless in writing and signed by a person so authorised by Women’s Fitness Adventures. In these terms and conditions reference to “Women’s Fitness Adventures representatives” means staff of Women’s Fitness Adventures and its officers, employees, agents, licensees, guides and other third parties and representatives and the land management authorities in each country in which the tour is conducted, or any of them.

    Women’s Fitness Adventures reserves the right to update the Booking Terms and Conditions at any time and will advise you in writing of any changes ahead of time.

    For International Adventures, please note a passport is required for all International Travel and a minimum 6 months validity is required on your passport.

    Final itineraries and gear lists and other relevant information will be emailed no later than 14-21 days prior to adventure departure date.

    Prices

    All prices are subject to availability and can be withdrawn or varied without notice. The price is only guaranteed once paid for in full by you.

    Price changes can occur between the time you make a reservation and the date of full payment. Therefore pricing is subject to change until final payment has been received.

    Factors influencing price changes can be currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, taxes and other provider increases outside of our control. Please be aware of this.

    Note you must be a financial member AT THE TIME OF YOUR ADVENTURE DEPARTURE to access the member price. If you are not a financial member at the time of your adventure departure you will need to pay the difference between the member and non member price for this adventure.

    • An initial non refundable deposit of 25% is required to secure your place on this adventure.
    • Once a booking is confirmed, payment must be received within the payment terms as advised by Women’s Fitness Adventures in the table below.
    • Failure to pay within the deadline will result in automatic cancellation of your booking.
    • Payments are accepted by direct deposit, PayPal or by credit card. There are no surcharges for bookings made through the Women’s Fitness Adventures website
    • When your credit card is processed by Women’s Fitness Adventures you agree to not have your payment ‘charged back’ or reversed by your credit card provider where the services have been provided.

    • Postpone, cancel or delay (either in relation to the departure or arrival times or the duration of the adventures) any such aspect of the tour if, at the absolute discretion of Women’s Fitness Adventures, it is necessary to do so due to inclement weather, snow or icy conditions or conditions that are otherwise likely to be hazardous or dangerous or due to any other adverse or threatening conditions whether political or military or terrorist or otherwise or if, in the absolute discretion of Women’s Fitness Adventures there is a likelihood of any such event occurring which may impact upon the safety of the participants, or if an act or omission of a third party prevents the tour or the aspect of the tour being undertaken in accordance with your booking or for any other reason considered necessary by Women’s Fitness Adventures.
    • In the event of any change, modification, cancellation postponement or delay under this condition, you acknowledge that you will have no right of refund of the adventure price (whether in whole or in part) and no right to claim compensation for any injury, loss or damage or other additional expenses incurred by virtue of the change, modification, cancellation postponement or delay.
    • Women’s Fitness Adventures also reserves, at its absolute discretion, the right to cancel any tour due to any government travel warning or advice, or any change in such warning or advice. Travel insurance may compensate you depending on the circumstances.

    Cancellation by Women’s Fitness Adventures

    Women’s Fitness Adventures reserves the right to cancel a departure and will advise you of such cancellations no later than 30 days before the adventure departure date.

    Women’s Fitness Adventures reserve the right either before or during the course of the adventure to refuse to carry or accommodate any client which it reasonably considers, in the light of the best interests of all participants within the adventure group and crew, to be unsuitable by reason of physical or mental condition or unruly behaviour.

    If due to ‘Force Majeure’ or government travel advice, Women’s Fitness Adventures reserves the right to cancel a departure at any time. With any form of cancellation, Women’s Fitness Adventures will do its best to offer you alternative arrangements if available, and if the price of your alternative adventure is of lower value than the original booking we will refund the difference to you. If you do not accept alternative arrangements we will provide you with a Travel Credit for the amount you have paid to Women’s Fitness Adventures, (in case of ‘Force Majeure’ or government travel advice refunds will be less any unrecoverable costs). Women’s Fitness Adventures will not be liable for any additional costs incurred by you.

    Force Majeure 

    Women’s Fitness Adventures will not be liable for any delay in, change to or cancellation of trips due to ‘Force Majeure’. ‘Force Majeure’ definition means a circumstance beyond the reasonable control of Women’s Fitness Adventures and includes, but is not limited to, war or threat of war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, disease, industrial or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire and strikes.

    Covid-19 Specifically for the Jatbula Fitness Adventure

    Please note that if we are unable to conduct this adventure due to Queensland and/or Australian Government restrictions imposed around travel and/ or border closures due to Covid-19, then the following will apply

    1. If the Jatbula Fitness Adventure is postponed due to Government restrictions relating to Covid-19 your place will be transferred straight over to the same adventure on another date as advised by Women’s Fitness Adventures.
    1.     If you are unable to participate in the adventure on the new (advised) date then this will be considered a cancellation and our standard Booking Terms and Conditions apply.
    2.     If you decide to cancel your place on the adventure and there are no travel restrictions in place for our Jatbula Fitness Adventure, our standard cancellation policy applies.
    3.     By booking into the Adventure you accept that the dates may change and the onus is on you to be flexible. We strongly recommend you ONLY book into this adventure if you accept these terms in their entirety.
    4.     Terms and conditions are subject to change at any time and we will notify you of those changes in writing ahead of time.

     

    Cancellation due to small adventure numbers

    Women’s Fitness Adventures reserves the right to cancel any adventure at any time  prior to departure in the event that there are too few people booked on the adventure. In this case, you will be given a full refund of the amount already paid by you. You will not be entitled to claim any additional amounts or seek any compensation for any injury, loss, expenses or damage (either direct or consequential) or for any loss of time or inconvenience which may result from such cancellation (including but not limited to visa, passport and vaccination charges, or departure, gear purchases, airport and airline taxes or annual leave).

    We require a minimum of 9 trekkers for the Jatbula Fitness Adventure. If numbers do not reach this level we reserve the right to cancel, or change the dates of the adventure or refer you to another existing adventure.

    Adventure numbers are regularly reviewed and we will notify you of any cancellations no later than 14 days prior to your selected trek.

     

    Vaccinations and COVID-19 Proof of Vaccination

    Certain countries and Principals require that travellers be vaccinated against specific infection (including but not limited to COVID vaccinations) and/or diseases. Women’s Fitness Adventures strongly recommends that you check with your doctor and the Embassies of countries to which you are travelling to with respect to any health requirements.

    As Governments and Principals start to open and accept clients their requirements for Covid vaccinations, PCR Tests and other requirements are constantly evolving.  Whilst Women’s Fitness Adventures may assist you in navigating these travel requirements you are ultimately responsible for all medical & travel-related documentation required by state, federal or international authorities that allow entry or exit into their state, territory, return to Australia or overseas travel from Australia to another country.  You should ensure that you have satisfied yourself that you have all the required documents before booking your travel and keep yourself up to date on any changes to these requirements.

    If provided by you, you authorise Women’s Fitness Adventures to store a copy of all relevant COVID vaccination certificates and forward a copy to any of our Adventure Partners, as reasonably required for your specific adventure.

    Medical Disclosure

    It is your responsibility and you must advise women’s Fitness Adventures of any pre-existing medical condition and/or disability that might reasonably be expected to increase the risk of you requiring medical attention while on our tours. Women’s Fitness Adventures or our suppliers may require additional medical assessment by a medical practitioner. Women’s Fitness Adventures reserves the right, at its reasonable discretion, to cancel your booking and refund the money paid by you, less any unrecoverable costs. Women’s Fitness Adventures also reserves the right to cancel your participation in a trip at any time, including after the commencement of your trip, with no right of refund if your medical condition and/or disability could be reasonably expected to affect the normal conduct of the trip and the enjoyment of other trip members.

     

    Disclaimer for disease, virus or other illness: We ask that all our participants take their own individual precautions regarding their own medical and health safety, particularly with the spreading of such viruses as COVID-19. If, for example, you suffer from ill health or are an ‘at risk’ individual, you are responsible for ensuring you take all appropriate precautions including wearing a mask and keeping a safe distance from other participants when participating in our Services. 

    If you believe you have been in contact with or have been or suspect you may have been  exposed to anyone who may have exhibited COVID-19 symptoms, we request that you do not attend our adventures, immediately contact your medical professional and remain in isolation. 

    Should you have Covid-19 and need to cancel your place, you will need to provide the necessary documentation. We will do our best to re-book your experience with us at another suitable time however this is not guaranteed and should not be assumed.. We do not test participants attending our adventures and you are responsible for ensuring the safety of yourself and others.  

    We are at no time responsible for any illness, virus, disease or any other medical condition you believe you may have been exposed to or contracted on or during any of our experiences or while using our Services. You are solely responsible for your own health and ensuring you follow safe practices for managing any public health issue in accordance with relevant mandated guidelines.

    Privacy: We only collect the information we need in order to safely and effectively perform our fitness adventure tour services (“Services”). We comply at all times with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Health Records (Privacy and Access) Act 1997 which regulates how personal information is handled including all your health details which are sensitive information. We will not disclose your personal information without your consent unless required due to a medical emergency, injury, health risk or similar and we will only do so to a qualified professional who is under the same duty of confidentiality.

    The personal information you are providing is true and correct at the time you are providing it to us. You will notify us with any changes and keep it updated on a regular basis while you are using our Services. You can access your personal information by request at any time.

    We keep your personal information secure and do not use it for any purposes unrelated to our services. All our employees and any staff who may have access to this personal information are under a strict duty of confidentiality and privacy practices are adhered to. Please note: we securely destroy all your personal information after the regulated and legislated time period if you have ceased using our Services.

    **We use all reasonable means to protect the confidentiality of your health, medical and other personal information (together ‘Personal Data’) while in our possession or control. For full information on how we protect your Personal Data, please see our Privacy Policy on our website.

    In order to preserve the group’s safety, if you do not answer the above truthfully and correctly, or otherwise act in a way that neglects group safety you may be asked to leave the adventure at your own expense.

    We strongly recommend you obtain your own insurance for the adventures. The policy should cover personal liability, cancellation, and curtailment and loss of personal effects, coverage for medical expenses including emergency evacuation.
