We hope you can join us for a Saturday NIGHT HIKE at Mt Cootha.

We’ve marked this one as MODERATE FITNESS levels and above as we will be taking on quite a few HILLS for the evening.

With our hike starting in the early evening, we spend time exploring the bush tracks by torchlight and then finishing with a Christmas celebration at the summit.

What’s included?
  • Women’s Fitness Adventures C.R.E.W Leader
  • All applicable National Park permits and fees
  • Emergency communications and group first aid kit
  • 2.5 to 3 hours hiking
  • SUPPER – tea, coffee and cake.


I haven’t done this before, will I be fit enough?
  • This hike caters for regular hikers with moderate and above fitness levels.
  • If you are keen to try night hiking, it is a great place to start. You will learn how to hike at night in a safe environment.
Do I need any special gear?
  • You will need a pair of joggers or hiking boots, headlight torch or hand held torch, water bottle and snacks.
  •  If you have a pair of shoes with grip (ie hiking boots/shoes or trail shoes) we recommend you wear these.
Can I come alone?
  • Of course! Many of our adventurers start out not knowing anyone. By the end of the session, you would think everyone has been friends for years

  • Payment for our Night Hike is final once you receive a confirmation email.
  • No refunds, credits or transfers will be given for this event.

Covid Safe Procedure

To ensure we have a Cofid-safe environment, the following procedures are in place: 
  1. Social Distancing.  All participants are required to be 1/5 metres apart at all tmes
  2. The principles of good hand hygiene, sneezing/coughing into your arm and the use and disposal of tissues is mandatory
  3. No food or equipment to be shared.
  4. If you feel unwell DO NOT attend.
  5. If you have recently returned from travel and not isolated for 14 days, DO NOT attend.
  6. If the leader at the start of the session deems that you are unwell enough to not participate and you may jeopardise the health of others, you may be asked to leave.  No credits or refunds or transfers will be available.
