Mt Greville Hike – Saturday 4th May 2019

We do hope that you will join us on this is a delightful hike to the summit of Mt Greville – one with many different habitats to travel through.

We’ve graded this hike as moderate plus, due to some rock scrambling and at times, an unmarked track. Under the direction of our Professional Wilderness Guide, we take our time and enjoy the beauty of this area.

An open forest soon leads to a cool mountain gorge.

It’s not long before we pop onto a potential orchid covered ridge line and then on to the summit. There is a spectacular view along the way with a little bit of scrambling – all making for an excellent expedition with many twists and turns.

From the summit, we descend down an alternate track to complete our circuit to the car park.

We supply our “high tea of the bush” – a freshly brewed cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate with our delicious home bake of the day.

Please ensure you read the Booking Terms and Conditions for this adventure before Booking.

High tea of the bush on our Introductory Rock hopping adventure

I  have not done this type of thing before. Is it for me?

We have graded this hike as moderate plus, primarily due to some rock scrambling and unmarked track hiking. It is a summit hike, so there is a fair bit of cardio involved as well. This hike is suitable for anyone who has completed moderate day hikes in the past and is looking for something a little more challenging.

Can I car pool?

We always ask if anyone wants to share a lift. Once you are booked, we recommend (if you are a member) that you put a note in the closed Member Facebook Group.

What gear do I need?

We recommend a small backpack to carry your drinking water, snacks, lunch, camera and a windproof jacket. Hiking boots/shoes are recommended, however if you have comfortable walking shoes/joggers that are well worn in, then these will be fine. (Preferably a shoe with grip). Keeping a towel and change of shoes in the car is always a good idea for afterwards.

What time does it start?

Our Mt Greville Hike starts at Mt Greville Car park at 8am. This car park is approximately 1.5 hours drive from Brisbane towards Lake Moogerah in the Scenic Rim.

This does mean an early start, however we take advantage of the relative coolness of the morning air.

What about wet weather?

We will endeavour to run this adventure in all weather conditions and may need to make modifications to enable this to occur.

Should there be a severe weather warning where we need to cancel the event, we will contact you via tex and email as soon as we are aware. You will then have the option of transferring to another adventure, a credit or a full refund.
