The weekend consists of
- Friday night – Sunday Morning
- Full day to the summit on the Saturday 12-14 hours in total
- All meals Saturday through to breakfast Sunday morning.
- Accommodation at Mt Barney Lodge (shared accommodation in Moringarah Homestead)
- Fully guided hike by local experts and qualified wilderness guides
- Women’s Fitness Adventure C.R.E.W Leader
It is important that our guides are able to assess your endurance, balance and rock scrambling ability prior to the Mt Barney Summit. It is a pre requisite that you have completed either the Stinson Hike or Mt Maroon Summit Hike within the last twelve months. Please email us with any questions.
Friday 9th August
Arrive at your leisure on Friday afternoon/evening and relax around the open fire in the loungeroom as you meet fellow hikers. A light supper/nibbles will be held when all hikers have arrived.
Saturday 10th August
Full day hike to the summit of Mt Barney, the fourth highest peak in Queensland.
After a very early breakfast, our expedition leaves at 5.30am and we make our way to the summit. The exact route that we take will be weather dependant and may be subject to change on the day.
On return to the lodge, early evening, after a warm shower, relax by the fire with your feet up and pre dinner snacks. Over our dining room table dinner, rediscover the highlights of the hike before the lure of sleep beckons you.
Sunday 11th August
Wake at your leisure to a relaxing and hearty breakfast before heading home around mid morning.
BYO Linen, beverages (tea/coffee supplied)
Upon booking, you will receive a confirmation email indicating that your place on this weekend is secure.
I am reasonably fit but have not done this type of thing before. Is it for me?
If you like an adventure and have a high level of fitness, then this is the adventure for you. Our guides and the support of other members of the team are there to help.
Can I car pool?
We always ask if anyone wants to share a lift. Once you are booked, we will put the call out.
What gear do I need?
We recommend a backpack to carry your water, snacks, camera and a windproof jacket. Hiking boots/shoes are recommended, however if you have comfortable walking shoes/joggers that are well worn in, then these will be fine.
You will need to bring your own linen/sleeping bag as well as any personal snacks
Alcohol is not supplied however you are welcome to bring your own.
Approximately one month prior to the weekend you will receive a comprehensive gear list
Please note that although we will endeavour to run this adventure in all weather conditions, some modifications may occur for the summit hike in inclement weather in particular, heavy rainfall. If this is the case, we will modify the original program to ensure we can still provide an outdoor fitness adventure of some variety on that day. Should we have to cancel the adventure due to poor weather conditions, you will be advised by text and email on the Thursday prior. Should this occur, alternative arrangements for another date and/or refund will be made.

Are there any special booking terms and conditions?
Once we have received your payment, you will receive an email within 48 hours confirming your place. Should you wish to cancel for any reason, prior to July 17th 2019, a refund will be given, less a 25% administration fee. Strictly NO refunds will be given after July 17th should you be unable to attend or cancel for any reason
