What is in the BUNDLE?

4 x 3 hour Introductory Hike Training sessions

1 x Introductory Rock Hopping Adventure  in Mt Barney National Park

Designed for entry-level hikers, Introductory Hike Training is suitable for:

  • beginner hikers
  • anyone wishing to begin their outdoor fitness journey. 
  • introductory fitness levels
  • anyone returning to fitness after an absence (i.e injury, being busy!)

Our Introductory Hike Training sessions are designed to boost fitness through cardio and endurance – time on your legs.

It is up to 3 hours of Hike Training per session PLUS the Introductory Rock Hopping Session.

Each time the route may vary and could include hills, distance or varied surfaces.

Guided by your Women’s Fitness Adventures C.R.E.W Leader, in addition to fitness, this session also covers the hiking essentials discussions – including gear and equipment (shoes) and hiking techniques and tips.

Do I need any special gear?

No, a pair of joggers or hiking boots, water bottle, hat, morning tea and sunscreen are all you need.  If you have a pair of shoes with grip (ie hiking boots/shoes or trail shoes) we recommend you wear these.

Your C.R.E.W Leader will cover such topics as gear and equipment, importance of hydration and understanding the elements.

What level of fitness do I need?

Introductory Hike Training is an introduction to Hike Training.   The session will involve hills and may involve uneven and rocky surfaces.

The goal is to have you increase your cardio through the introduction of hill work, increase your endurance through time on your legs and increase your knowledge of gear and equipment through knowledge sharing from Women’s Fitness Adventures.

Can I come alone?

Of course! Many of our adventurers start out not knowing anyone. By the end of the session, you would think everyone has been friends for years

Where are the sessions held?

The Introductory Hike Training sessions are held in Brisbane fortnightly on a Saturday, starting 5th January.  The exact location will be emailed to you upon confirmation of your payment.

The Introductory Rock Hopping session is held at Mt Barney National Park. This is about 1 hour 45 minutes drive from Brisbane. There is the option to car pool.  This is under the instruction and direction of our local Wilderness Guide and your Women’s Fitness Adventures C.R.E.W Leader.

What if it is raining?

We will endeavour to conduct the sessions in all weather conditions. Should there be a severe weather event and we need to cancel, we will advise by email and text the night before.

Session 2 Saturday 19th January 2019 – 7.30am
Session 3 Saturday 2nd February 2019 – 7.30am
Session 4 Saturday 16th February 2019 – 7.30am
Session 5 Saturday 2nd March 2019 – All Day

What if I can’t make all the sessions?

If purchasing the BUNDLE, then congratulations – you have made a great commitment to your outdoor fitness goal and you are committed to all the sessions.

Payment for Introductory Hike Training Saturday Bundle is final once you receive a confirmation email. No refunds will be given for this event.
