HikeAbout PLUS is a cardio training session in a hiking environment specifically designed to:

  • boost your cardio through hill training AT PACE
  • increase your ENDURANCE through extended distance on legs
  • strengthen the muscles that support the joints through 30 minutes of Functional Fitness exercises
  • build strength in your legs while carrying a backpack (minimum 5kg)

We recommend a MODERATE and ABOVE level of fitness due to the level of cardio training at pace, that is involved.

Each session is in the bush and maximises the environment.

This session is under the direction of your Women’s Fitness Adventures C.R.E.W Leader – a Certified Personal Trainer. Be prepared to be challenged.

INCLUSIONS

What’s included?
  • Fully Qualified Personal Trainer and Women’s Fitness Adventures C.R.E.W Leader
  • All applicable National Park permits and fees
  • Emergency communications and group first aid kit
  • 2.5 – 3 hours of cardio, hills, functional fitness training and stretching

FAQs

I haven’t done this before, will I be fit enough?
  • To maximise your HikeAbout PLUS experience, we recommend you have a moderate or above level of fitness due to the amount of cardio training involved in the session
  • This session is for you if you:
    • Can hike at least 8km in 2 hours in an outdoor environment
    • Seek to improve your fitness through muscle strengthening exercises.
Do I need any special gear?
  • Yes. You will need the following:
    • hiking boots or shoes (no sandshoes)
    • Backpack (weighted to approx 5kg, including 2L water
    • Personal first aid
    • Snacks
Can I come alone?
  • Of course! Many of our adventurers start out not knowing anyone. By the end of the session, you would think everyone has been friends for years

CovidSafe Processes & Procedures

To ensure we have a Covid-safe environment, the following procedures are in place:
  1. Social Distancing – All participants are required to be 1.5 metres apart at all times
  2. The principles of good hand hygiene, sneezing/coughing into your arm and the use and disposal of tissues is mandatory
  3. No food or equipment to be shared.
  4. If you feel unwell DO NOT attend.
  5. If you have recently returned from travel and not isolated for 14 days, DO NOT attend
  6. If the leader at the start of the session,  deems that you are unwell enough to participate and you may jeopardise the health of others, you may be asked to leave.
  7. No refunds, credits or transfers will be available.

  • Should this event have to be cancelled by Women’s Fitness Adventures due to severe weather or an unforeseen event, including Government Advice, you will receive a full refund
