Imagine cruising the coastline of Croatia with your fellow Women’s Fitness Adventures C.R.E.W members in our own private chartered boat! Visit historic villages and hike beautiful mountains and dine in wonderful coastal villages on local delicacies.

On this adventure, we have the boat exclusively to ourselves so we can easily travel the Croatian islands. The beauty of travelling this way is we only have to unpack once onboard and it is our home for seven nights.

Hugging the coastline, we stop in at various towns to hike during the day. Our hikes range in intensity and are suited to the moderate hiker.

We cruise in the daylight hours, to ensure we maximise the coastal views and enjoy the daylight hours. In the evening we are docked at village ports  giving us the opportunity to “dine local” and explore the villages at night.

Arrive into Split- Croatia

Your Women’s Fitness Adventures C.R.E.W Leader will arrive in Split today. You may choose to go on the same flights as her. Bookings for this will be provided to you at a later date. If you fly with your Women’s Fitness Adventures C.R.E.W Leader transfers to the hotel are included. If you choose to meet in Split please arrive before our Welcome Dinner.

Saturday 29 MAY

SPLIT – STARI GRAD

After a leisurely breakfast at our hotel we set out for a morning walking tour of SPLIT including the Diocletian’s Palace.  At 12.30pm we transfer to the harbour to board our Traditional Vessel.

We set sail this afternoon for the port of Stari Grad, one of Croatia’s oldest towns dating back to 385 BC, and  have lunch on board and  time to get unpacked for the exciting week ahead.

Once in port we will go for a light hike to warm up for the week.

We overnight and have dinner in the harbour of Stari Grad.

Sunday 30 MAY

HVAR

After our breakfast on board we temporarily say goodbye to our vessel and set out on a long hike across the island to the town of Hvar, where our ship will be waiting for us.

 

On the way we enjoy beautiful sights and pass through lovely villages. When we reach Hvar Town we will climb up to the Španjol (Spanish fortress), a citadel built on the site of a medieval castle to defend the town from Turks. This position holds a stunning view of this beautiful port town.

Monday 31 MAY

HVAR – PELJEŠAC / LUMBARDA

Early this morning we leave the island of Hvar and navigate towards Peljesac peninsula, to a small village called Kucista.

From this village we embark on one of the most beautiful and challenging hikes of the week, to the highest peak of the peninsula at the altitude of 961m.

The amazing views will be well worth it as we sit on the summit of this spectacular mountain.

After hiking down back to the ship we will continue navigation further south, to the small village of Lumbarda on the island of Korcula, for a peaceful evening.

Tuesday 1 JUNE

LUMBARDA – MLJET – KORČULA

While we enjoy our breakfast the boat will take us to the lush green island of Mljet. Mljet National Park  is a beautiful area of two connected salty lakes and in one of them there is another island with a 12th c. Benedictine monastery. This is an easy day after a difficult climb of the previous day.

We can take a swim, go for a walk or even rent bikes and go for a ride. An ice cream is a great treat before we board our vessel.

In the afternoon we continue navigation to the medieval town of Korcula which, along with Venice, proclaims to be the birthplace of Marco Polo. Overnight in Korcula.

Wednesday 2 JUNE

KORČULA – VELA LUKA

Korčula is the island with the most abundant vegetation on the Adriatic.

Our hike today takes us through vineyards and olive tree groves up to Pupnat, one of the oldest villages in Croatia, at the altitude of 370m.

After refreshments we head back down to Korcula where our ship awaits us to take us to the other end of the island, to a town of Vela Luka where we spend the night.

Thursday 3 JUNE

VELA LUKA – BOL (BRAČ)

Early this morning we start navigation to the island of Brac and the town of Bol, known for its famous Golden Horn beach (about 2.5 km from the centre).  Today is a day to enjoy Golden Beach and explore this town.  There are water activities available or just relax and enjoy this beautiful town before heading back to the ship. Overnight in Bol.

Friday 4 JUNE

BOL – SPLIT

This morning after an early breakfast,  we enjoy a hike of about 4 hrs, to the highest point of the island, Vidova Gora at the altitude of 780 m.

Vidova Gora is the highest point of all Croatian Islands and gives fantastic views to the mainland and the neighboring islands. After climbing down to Bol, the ship will take us to Split.

Saturday 5 JUNE

SPLIT-ZAGREB

Breakfast on board this morning before disembarkation at 7am to travel to the stunning PLITVICE NATIONAL PARK for a walking tour and a boat ride in the emerald green Kozjak Lake.

After our Plitvice visit  we hop back on the bus for ZAGREB – the Croatian Capital where we will explore this wonderful and historic city centre.

Sunday 6 JUNE 

ZAGREB

We enjoy a delicious breakfast at our hotel  and then we have a 9am morning walking tour of the historic Upper Town, St Marks Church and the Zagreb Cathedral. This is a wonderful way to see and learn about this historic city.

Afternoon at leisure to explore at our own pace. Be ready for our Celebration dinner in Zagreb tonight.

Monday 7 JUNE

 Departure Day

We enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel before having a morning at our leisure. We have 12 noon transfer to the Airport from our hotel

If you are travelling with the Women’s Fitness Adventures C.R.E.W Leader we will check in to our return flight to Australia . Otherwise we will say goodbye at the airport.

FITNESS TRAINING

Our Cruising and Hiking in Croatia Fitness Adventure  is classified Moderate to Moderate Plus and provides the opportunity to experience an Outdoor adventure . Due to the nature of you being onboard and the vessel travelling to each destination if you choose one day not to hike you are able to spend time in the villages along the way.

Women’s Fitness Adventures provides the opportunity to attend  monthly hike training sessions within the greater Brisbane area.

This monthly training is included in your package.

We advise you do as much training as you can before the trip.  The more you train for this hike, the easier you will handle the terrain and the more you will enjoy this wonderful part of the world.

Non Brisbane residents have a monthly call and online training provided.

ACCOMMODATION

During our Cruising and Hiking in Croatia Fitness Adventure we will be staying in three different locations to enjoy the diversity of this country.

One Night in a hotel – twin share in Split

Seven nights on board a traditional vessel –  twin share

Two Nights in a hotel – twin share in Zagreb

All our accommodation is clean and comfortable.

MEALS

In this itinerary we have catered for

10 Breakfasts | 7 lunches|  3 Dinners.

Please refer to each day’s itinerary for inclusions.

Whilst we do not supply alcohol, you are welcome to buy your own.

Remember alcohol is dehydrating and the goal is to hike each day.

Should you have any special snacks that you can’t live without, you are welcome to bring these with you.

YOUR LEADERS

Your experienced Women’s Fitness Adventures C.R.E.W. Leader is with you all the way.

From the moment you arrive in Split (or if you are travelling there together) until the time you leave she will be your ultimate fan and support.

Your C.R.E.W Leader is fully trained in Remote Area First Aid and is your first point of call once you are on the adventure.

 

GEAR AND EQUIPMENT

Within a few weeks of your booking being confirmed, you will have access to your Gear and Packing list.

By sticking to the list, you will be well prepared for Cruising and Hiking in Croatia Fitness Adventure

Each day you will be required to carry your own day pack.

If you are new to adventures and do not have the gear, please hold off until our Member Night at the Adventure store or your first training session where you can talk to your Women’s Fitness Adventures C.R.E.W Leader

Women’s Fitness Adventures regularly holds information and education evenings with our preferred Adventure store partners.

At these events you will be able to receive professional advice, adventure specific information, a fun night out and the Women’s Fitness Adventures Members’ discount on equipment purchases on the night.

Your C.R.E.W Leaders are carrying Emergency Communications Equipment and a group first aid kit.

SAFETY

Safety is our number one priority. Your C.R.E.W Leader is fully trained in Remote Area First Aid and your Guides hold  Senior First Aid Qualifications.

All guides and leaders have current CPR Qualifications.

In the event of extreme weather conditions or conditions beyond our control, the adventure may vary from the itinerary. Please be aware of this and accept this as part of the adventure. Your personal safety is our highest priority.

  • What you carry

    You will only need day packs to carry your water and snacks for the day.  You may also have personal items that you might like to carry along such as extra clothing, rainjacket, sunscreen and camera. The weight of this would vary around 5-7kg.

    A comprehensive gear list will be supplied to you long before the adventure so that you can feel confident that you have the right gear.

    Within a few weeks of your booking being confirmed, you will have access to your Gear and Packing list.

  • Fitness Level

    Our Cruising and Hiking in Croatia Fitness Adventure is Graded Moderate.

    The walking is  moderate to moderate plus with daily guided walks of around 4-8 hours.

    This is a cruising holiday on a traditional vessel that is fully skippered  and has a crew on board. No previous sailing experience is necessary and all safety equipment is supplied.

    You will need an above average level of fitness to participate fully in this adventure.

    The advantage of being on a vessel is that if you have a day when you do not feel like hiking you can stay in the villages and explore.

    Women’s Fitness Adventures provides the opportunity to attend  monthly hike training sessions within the greater Brisbane area.

    This monthly training is included in your package.

    May and June  and two of the best months to travel to Croatia

    The weather is warm and sunny but not too crowded.

    It is important to come along with an open mind ready for an awesome experience whatever the weather, whoever the group. Weather can sometimes be unpredictable.

    In the event of extreme weather conditions and other factors beyond our control, the adventure may vary from the itinerary. Please be aware of this and accept this as part of the adventure. Your personal safety is our highest priority.

    In completing and submitting the Booking Form, you agree to be bound by these conditions which constitute the agreement between Women’s Fitness Adventures ABN 99 126 975 880 and you.

    No purported variation of these conditions will be effective unless in writing and signed by a person so authorised by Women’s Fitness Adventures. In these terms and conditions reference to “Women’s Fitness Adventures representatives” means staff of Women’s Fitness Adventures and its officers, employees, agents, licensees, guides and other third parties and representatives and the land management authorities in each country in which the tour is conducted, or any of them.

    For international bookings please note a passport is required for all International Travel and a minimum of 6 months validity is required on your passport.

    Final itineraries and gear lists will be supplied via email no more than 14-21 days prior to your departure date.

    Prices

    All prices are subject to availability and can be withdrawn or varied without notice. The price is only guaranteed once paid for in full by you.

    Price changes can occur between the time you make a reservation and the date of full payment. Therefore pricing is subject to change until final payment has been received. Factors influencing price changes can be currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, taxes and other provider increases outside of our control. Please be aware of this.

    • An initial non refundable deposit of 25% is required to secure your place on this adventure.
    • Once a booking is confirmed, payment must be received within the payment terms as advised by Women’s Fitness Adventures in the table below.
    • Failure to pay within the deadline will result in automatic cancellation of your booking.
    • Payments are accepted by direct deposit, by cheque or by credit card. There are no surcharges for bookings made through the Women’s Fitness Adventures website
    • When your credit card is processed by Women’s Fitness Adventures you agree to not have your payment ‘charged back’ or reversed by your credit card provider where the services have been provided

    Note you must be a financial member AT THE TIME OF YOUR ADVENTURE DEPARTURE to take access the member price. If you are not a financial member at the time of your adventure departure you will need to pay the difference between the member and non member price for this adventure.

     

    Travel Insurance

     

    Travel insurance must be taken out at this point and a copy of your Travel Documentation supplied with your completed Participant Document to guarantee your place.

    • Please make sure that you read, understand and accept all of the fine print contained within your insurance policy before purchase to ensure it covers all of your personal requirements.
    • Please ensure your Travel Insurance covers you for cancellation, medical and repatriation expenses, personal injury and accident, death, loss of personal baggage and money and personal liability insurance. It is also important to read the fine print in relation to parents over the age of 80 and what is included/excluded from your policy. If using your credit card insurance, please check the terms and conditions on this before booking with us.

    Women’s Fitness Adventures and its partners are not liable for any out of pocket expenses that insurance will not cover and will not be held responsible financially or in kind should your insurance not cover your personal circumstances.

    Itineraries and other details are published in good faith as statements of intention only and reasonable changes in the itinerary and related items may be made where deemed necessary or advisable by Women’s Fitness Adventures.

    The information contained in Women’s Fitness Adventures website, Facebook Pages, brochures, itineraries, and any other published content, is to the best of Women’s Fitness Adventures knowledge, correct at the time of publication.

     

    Route changes, Postponement, Cancellation or Delay.

     

    Women’s Fitness Adventures reserves the right to:

    • Cancel or modify any routes within the adventures or objectives set out in the itinerary; or
    • Substitute different or equivalent routes within the adventures in place of cancelled or modified routes, or
    • Postpone, cancel or delay (either in relation to the departure or arrival times or the duration of the adventures) any such aspect of the tour if, at the absolute discretion of Women’s Fitness Adventures, it is necessary to do so due to inclement weather, snow or icy conditions or conditions that are otherwise likely to be hazardous or dangerous or due to any other adverse or threatening conditions whether political or military or terrorist or otherwise or if, in the absolute discretion of Women’s Fitness Adventures there is a likelihood of any such event occurring which may impact upon the safety of the participants, or if an act or omission of a third party prevents the tour or the aspect of the tour being undertaken in accordance with your booking or for any other reason considered necessary by Women’s Fitness Adventures.
    • In the event of any change, modification, cancellation postponement or delay under this condition, you acknowledge that you will have no right of refund of the adventure price (whether in whole or in part) and no right to claim compensation for any injury, loss or damage or other additional expenses incurred by virtue of the change, modification, cancellation postponement or delay.
    • Women’s Fitness Adventures also reserves, at its absolute discretion, the right to cancel any tour due to any government travel warning or advice, or any change in such warning or advice. Travel insurance may compensate you depending on the circumstances.

     

    Cancellation by Women’s Fitness Adventures.

     

    Cancellation by Women’s Fitness Adventures. 

    Women’s Fitness Adventures reserves the right to cancel a departure and will advise you of such cancellations no later than 60 days before the adventure departure date.

    If due to ‘Force Majeure’ or government travel advice, Women’s Fitness Adventures reserves the right to cancel a departure at any time. With any form of cancellation, Women’s Fitness Adventures will do it’s best to offer you alternative arrangements if available, and if the price of your alternative adventure is of lower value than the original booking we will refund the difference to you. If you do not accept alternative arrangements we will refund all payments you have made to Women’s Fitness Adventures, (in case of ‘Force Majeure’ or government travel advice refunds will be less any unrecoverable costs). Women’s Fitness Adventures will not be liable for any additional costs incurred by you.

    Force Majeure Women’s Fitness Adventures will not be liable for any delay in, change to or cancellation of trips due to ‘Force Majeure’. ‘Force Majeure’ definition means a circumstance beyond the reasonable control of Women’s Fitness Adventures and includes, but is not limited to, war or threat of war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, disease, industrial or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire and strikes.

    Women’s Fitness Adventures reserve the right either before or during the course of the adventure to refuse to carry or accommodate any client which it reasonably considers, in the light of the best interests of all participants within the adventure group and crew, to be unsuitable by reason of physical or mental condition or unruly behaviour.

    Cancellation due to small adventure numbers. 

    Women’s Fitness Adventures reserves the right to cancel any adventure prior to departure in the event that there are too few people booked on the adventure. In this case, you will be given a full refund of the amount already paid by you. You will not be entitled to claim any additional amounts or seek any compensation for any injury, loss, expenses or damage (either direct or consequential) or for any loss of time or inconvenience which may result from such cancellation (including but not limited to visa, passport and vaccination charges, or departure, gear purchases, airport and airline taxes or annual leave).

    We require a minimum of 11 trekkers for the Cruising and Hiking in Croatia  Adventure. If numbers do not reach this level we reserve the right to cancel, or change the dates of the adventure or refer you to another existing adventure.

    Adventure numbers are regularly reviewed and we will notify you of any cancellations no later than 60 days prior to your selected trek.

    Medical Disclosure. It is your responsibility and you must advise women’s Fitness Adventures of any pre-existing medical condition and/or disability that might reasonably be expected to increase the risk of you requiring medical attention while on our tours. Women’s Fitness Adventures or our suppliers may require additional medical assessment by a medical practitioner. Women’s Fitness Adventures reserves the right, at its reasonable discretion, to cancel your booking and refund the money paid by you, less any unrecoverable costs. Women’s Fitness Adventures also reserves the right to cancel your participation in a trip at any time, including after the commencement of your trip, with no right of refund if your medical condition and/or disability could be reasonably expected to affect the normal conduct of the trip and the enjoyment of other trip members.
